Who We Are

We are a community of incredibly generous, creative and passionate educators who work tirelessly in their teaching craft and reach out to our parents and friends to ensure that every student is provided with an equal opportunity to learn. We uniquely tailor individualized learning plans for each student. Our instruction is driven by these plans and is designed with one goal in mind: growth for all learners—including the adults. JMA students grow! We are excited about engaging and empowering our students to reach for the stars. This is our bottom line—as a community, we settle for nothing less!

Around JMA

  • Imagine how exciting it is to get both high school & college credit at the same time! JMA will be rolling out a dual credit program to make college affordable and provide students with an opportunity to graduate from college early. On April 24 @ 6pm we will be hosting an information night at the cafeteria. Students in 6-12th grade and their parents are invited to join us. If you know a non-JMA student who can benefit from this program, they are welcomed to attend. The meeting is available in both English and Spanish.
  • Check out all the information you need to know about JMA's First Annual Swinging for Eagles Golf Classic, Jane 11th, 2014.
  • Jean Massieu Academy Celebrates Deaf History Month By Honoring a Real Texas Deaf Hero! LeRoy Colombo: It was 1928, when LeRoy Colombo, a deaf lifeguard, saw the boat explode in the Gulf of Mexico near the town of Galveston, Texas. Horrified, Colombo watched as a fire broke out, burning the oil that spread over the troubled waters. The he dove into the water, swam under the flames and made his way to the two crewmen. He was able to save both of them, pulling them beneath the burning flames to safety. Colombo already had a reputation as a formidable lifeguard on the Texas coast.
